Specs:
This Egyptian hand made board measures 16¾ inches ~ 40
cm. The squares alternate. One square is inlaid wood.
The other squares are of Mother of Pearl. The Mother of
Pearl design is intricate and filled with a rainbow of
color. More Mother of Pearl lies within these square in
an iridescent silver. Also within the Mother of Pearl
squares are camel bone inlay. Each square measures about
1¾". The outside border is very intricate. The very edge
is striated and inlaid with white camel bone. The inside
border is hexagonal designs of camel bone inlaid into
the board between a double border of bone inlay. The
board is 1/2 inch wide and has an inlay of bone right in
the middle around the entire board as well. It weighs
almost 5 pounds.
+32 hand made Pieces
The chess pieces are all hand carved camel bone. The Egyptian style of art is still very reminiscent of ancient Egyptian art and hieroglyphics used in the tombs of their forefathers. The King and the Queen resembles the ancient pharaohs. This Set Pieces are Big & Gorgeous Approximately 3.5" Height & 1"X 1" thick.
Because these are hand carved, the pieces all vary in thickness and shape. Even the pawns that actually are supposed to look do have the same height, but variances in their carving. Some are thicker, some are thinner. All these pieces are carved from one piece of bone and attached to their stand by what we believe is a peg. Each piece is blue felted on the bottom.
