Very traditional musical instruments, known to the Arab world as "Semsemia"
This is hand made instruments and about 60 cm length, inlaid with rough and primitive finishes
String instrument with 6 or 12 strings, and played with fingers. Very known at red sea coast where people use this instrument to complement the melodic line by creating a dialogue with the singer or the pantomime.

Gawharet El Fan, Formerly Mosika El Kamal El Watania, established 1940,
is one of the oldest and deep-rooted musical instrument
shops in Egypt. It was the first one that displayed
different kinds of musical instruments in one shop in
Egypt. Three shops in Mohamed Ali Street give you the
real feeling of Egyptian and oriental spirit the rhythm of pure music flow melts all limits.
Gawharet el fan is also a permanent exhibitor in Frankfurt Music Show ( Frank furtmesse).
