This
Egyptian hand made board measures 16¾ inches ~ 40 cm or
30 cm.
The squares alternate. One square is inlaid wood. The
other squares are of Mother of Pearl. The Mother of
Pearl design is intricate and filled with a rainbow of
color. More Mother of Pearl lies within these square in
an iridescent silver. Also within the Mother of Pearl
squares are camel bone inlay. Each square measures about
1¾". The outside border is very intricate. The very edge
is striated and inlaid with white camel bone. The inside
border is hexagonal designs of camel bone inlaid into
the board between a double border of bone inlay. The
board is 1/2 inch wide and has an inlay of bone right in
the middle around the entire board as well. It weighs
almost 5 pounds
